Sayyidi Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi has written a beautiful preface to this edition of the Burda which really captures the essence of the Burda and its popularity. His Muqaddam Shaykh Faisal has also compiled a beneficial and useful introduction which covers a number of different aspects of the Burda including how the Burda was written, how it became famous, some virtues of the Burda and how Muslims have integrated the Burda in their lives in a clear and concise way.
This humble edition is intended to be used by lovers and singers of the Burda. Due to this, the book is in a small, pocket-sized A6 format and lightweight so that it can be carried with ease. Furthermore the font style is beautiful yet readable, the text is vowelled; to help the reader recite easier and finally, the pages are beautifully decorated to illuminate the lines of poetry. The book has a gloss laminate cover and satin inner pages which bring out the text and the beauty of the design and it is sewn bound making the book durable. All of these elements combined have produced a copy of the Burda which can be read time and time again and be treasured. Insha Allaah.
