This book includes a discussion of the Islamic festivals of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha as well as some of the major aspects of Islam's history during the lifetime of Prophet Mohamed (peace and blessings be upon him). It includes some illustrations in black and white and color.
Other topics include the history of Hajj and the journey to Makkah, Months of the Muslim calendar and the legacy of the Prophet (SAW).
A glossary is included in the back, explaining the Arabic words used in the text.

Clear and well-written, Islam And Its Festivals is an important addition to any Muslim family's library, especially for the benefit of children learning Islamic history and the basics of the faith. The author Istafiah Is'harc has travelled and lived widely: Calcutta, India, England, Russia, and Jakarta. While observing the Fast of Ramadhan with her Indonesian hosts, she felt strongly drawn to Islam from within, since when Islam has become an integral part of her life. She returned to London in 1972, to marry her Cape Malay husband, son of the late Sheik Muhammad Ghairuddin, a well-loved and highly respected imam in the Cape of South Africa. This brought her into contact with another rich Islamic culture and community which was reminiscent of what she had experienced in Jakarta.
